Aluminum Pipe Rail 5000 Series Post Spacing — for 1-1/4" ips pipe; not to exceed 3'-0" as measured on slope of stair, and not to exceed 3'-0" for level railing: for 1-1/2" ips pipe; not to exceed 4'-0" as measured on slope of stair, and not to exceed 4'-0" for level railing. Pipe fittings illustrated in shaded areas are furnished in a medium bronze Duranodic finish. All other fittings (except steel) are furnished in a satin finish…..Not Anodized. All components shown are aluminum unless otherwise noted. Pipe fittings are furnished with an internal expander. Post Spacing – for 1-1/2" I.P.S. pipe; not to exceed 4'-0" as measured on slope of stair or for level railings. Starting Posts – All starting posts including those with side mounted brackets should extend into floor for added rigidity. Boxed Metal Stringers – Boxed metal stringers should be reinforced behind each post mounting bracket with steel blocking welded to web of stringer. Rigidity – The railing installation will be only as rigid as the anchoring is to the stair, floor or wall. Fabrication – Local fabricators build the complete railing from stock pipe using Blumcraft pipe fittings and are responsible for its rigidity and the final finished appearance of the installation. Service to Architects – The Blumcraft engineering department will review preliminary drawings for construction and mounting details.
